通識教育

八卦雜誌有一篇特稿專題講通識教育
通識教育也稱爲博雅教育,英文叫liberal studies或general studies。
下午看了m傳給我的通識教育試卷之後,不覺得自己可以在兩個小時之内答完。
也不覺得試卷的内容有什麽liberal。
答案可以發揮的範圍太廣,不知道評判人的脾性,答不中的則全軍覆沒。
加上那天恰好評卷的女老師生理周期來臨,又天氣炎熱,她早上因爲起晚了沒有吃早飯,起來出門趕公車的路上又不幸踩到香口膠,狠狠地黐在她新買的貴價高跟鞋上……剛剛奔到巴士站,正好趕上巴士,坐在她旁邊的那個大叔卻大汗淋漓,讓她倒足胃口。
請問,我答得再好,如果字跡龍飛鳳舞,答案欠缺邏輯但東拼西湊還算過得去,是不是她也能耐心看完我那長達一頁,畫滿了箭頭和叉叉以及p.t.o的答題簿呢?
將心比心,我看到學生亂七八糟的作業時候,就是粗略地掃一眼,看不到我要找的答案就是錯。
至於給多少分數也是看心情,當然我通常還是很客氣的。
畢竟學生就是塗塗畫畫,湊了一篇文章上來,寫了幾頁,即使不對,我也會酌情給分。
因爲他們有花了時間和精力嘛,給點同情分還是要的,所謂reward the effort嘛。
至於剛才那個可憐的女老師怎麽給分,我希望她高擡貴手,可憐一下我們的學生吧。

exam...will only kill curiosity and novelty. exam is no exam. no big difference. however "liberal" it is, eventually is a game of how to express/argue one's points persuasively. In that light, i don't see much difference between this subject and others(like 中國文化, taken by F.6-7 students here, or english, or economics).

i find it quite hard to mark those type of questions (short answer, not maths type) from a marker's viewpoint. we were given model answers and how we should be giving marks to students' answers. if a student gave convincing answers but only hit 3 points, no matter how brilliant it looked. only 3 points were given. it sometimes can be quite subjective depending on the marker.
